Jackass's Steve-O Needed To Be Rescued After Getting Taped To A Billboard

Remember Steve-O from Jackass? He needed to be rescued by 21 firefighters over the weekend after being duct-taped to a billboard.

Studios and companies pump millions of dollars into creating movies and TV shows with the hope that those projects will entertain enough people to make some money. That customers will flock to theaters to buy tickets to see their work or networks will have enough faith in a show to air it, allowing millions to watch a project that has likely had their blood, sweat, and tears poured into it.

On the one hand, those creators must love the advent of social media and the internet changing the way in which their business works. Streaming services allow for more eyes to see their work than ever before. Plus, advertising can also reach more people than it could do in the past. However, other aspects of new media must drive them insane.

Which brings us somewhat neatly onto Steve-O. Remember him? He was the guy from Jackass who normally wore very little clothing. He has an online special airing soon called Gnarly. Steve-O decided to advertise his special by renting out a giant billboard in LA and taping himself to it. The billboard was pretty high up, but Steve-O insisted on social media that there was no chance of him falling.

That turned out to be true. However, when it came to getting back down, there appeared to be some issues. Issues that required 21 members of the LA Fired Department to come to his rescue. Steve-O had made it very clear that he didn't want his stunt to take essential services away from the rest of the city. Unfortunately, the stunt did not go to plan, and that's exactly what happened.

It's unclear why exactly Steve-O needed to be rescued, or why it took quite so many firefighters to get him down. Steve-O was checked over by the fire crew and did not require any medical attention. Nearby police officers were aware of the Jackass star but informed him that they weren't sure what to do since as far as they knew, he wasn't breaking any laws.
