Season three of Dead to Me finally premiered on Netflix on November 17, and fans were excited to get to see it. It's been a while since we have seen Jen Harding and Judy Hale, and we will now get to see what happened after the car crash.
Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini star in this dark comedy which has been a top series on Netflix. Season two ended in 2020 and production was delayed on season three due to Covid, and Christina Applegate's Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.
Unfortunately, this will be the final season. When this was announced, Christina Applegate tweeted, "I will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women. Thank you to all the fans. We will be getting back to work when it is safe to do so. Much love."
Season three will probably tie up many of the loose ends left from previous seasons. But after such a long wait, we might need a refresher course.

8 How Did Dead To Me's Jen And Judy Meet?
Jen and Judy met at a grief support group. Jen is mourning the death of her husband, Ted, who was killed in a hit-and-run while out jogging at night. Judy claims to be mourning the loss of her fiancé Steve. The two connect immediately and become fast friends. They have late night phone calls and the duo even drive around at night looking for cars that may have been in a hit-and-run so that Jen can find out who was responsible for her husband's death.
But Judy's real story is not what she told Jen. Her fiancé is still very much alive. When Judy finds out, she is so upset at her friend's deception that she cuts off all contact.
Judy forgives her new friend when she explains her situation. She had a series of miscarriages, which is what she is really mourning, and Steve left her. Judy is so forgiving that she invites Jen to live in her guest house, which was once her husband's studio.
7 But Judy Was Still Lying
It turned out that Judy did not meet Jen by accident. She purposely went to the grief group to find Jen because she was the one who hit Ted with her car. She originally found Jen on purpose to tell her the truth, but couldn't do it.
While living in the guest house, Judy discovers that Jen blames herself for her husband's death because the couple had a fight before he left the house that night. She could not let her friend live with the guilt, so she tells her the truth.
Jen is furious and throws her out.
6 Who Is Steve Wood On Dead To Me?
Steve Wood, played by James Marsden, is Judy's ex-fiance. He is an awful person who is involved with the Greek Mafia and illegal money laundering.
After Judy confesses to Jen, she cleans out Steve's bank account, which contained the illegal money, and planned to give it to her bestie as an apology. Then she was going to commit suicide.
But that never happened because Steve got in the way.
5 What Happened In The Season One Finale Of Dead To Me?
In the finale, Steve goes to Jen's house in search of the money Judy stole from him. While there, it comes out that Judy was not alone in the car the night Ted was killed. Steve was in the passenger seat, and he was the one who convinced Judy to drive away and not help the man she just hit. Jen realizes that her friend was manipulated by this man. Jen and Steve argue, and she pulls Ted's gun on him.
Jen calls Judy before she is able to commit suicide and asks her to come over. When she arrives, she finds Steve floating in the pool with Jen standing over him, holding a gun.
4 Dead To Me Season Two Started With...
At the beginning of Dead To Me Season 2, it is the next morning and Jen and Judy are in the kitchen. Jen explains that she didn't shoot Steve, she killed him in self-defense. What really happened was that she hit him on the head in a fit of rage with her son Henry's bird figurine. The duo put Steve's body in the freezer in the garage. They eventually bury him in a nearby forest. Although he was horrible to her, Judy does mourn him after that.
Judy develops a relationship with Michelle, Jen is working with her mother-in-law, and Steve's death is being investigated by Detective Perez.
3 Then Came Ben, A Joyride And A Memorial Service
Maybe because the audience still wanted to look at James Marsden, Steve's twin brother Ben arrives. He comes looking for answers after the FBI came to his home looking for his brother. He is the opposite of Steve - a really nice guy.
Meanwhile, Jen's son Charlie finds Steve's hidden car at their house and takes it for a joyride with his girlfriend, Parker. The teens post pics of them with the car on social media and Parker refuses to take them down until Jen gives her $1,000. Jen gives her the money and torches the car.
Some surprises take place at Steve's Memorial. Ben and Steve's mom is there, and does not like Judy. And then there is Ben's girlfriend, pregnant with Steve's baby. Ben announces a Steve Wood tip line and a reward for information. Judy has a breakdown, and Charlie sees his joyride car in Steve's memorial video.
Later, Ben kisses Jen on the beach. They have feelings for each other.
2 The Dead To Me Season Two Cliffhanger
Charlie and Parker break up after she spraypaints, "I know what you did" on his garage door. While looking at the security footage to find the spray painter, Jen has the entire week's footage deleted to get rid of the Steve evidence.
Parker causes trouble once again when she calls the tip line about the car incident. Charlie finds a voice recording tying the police chief to Steve's dirty dealings.
Jen decides she must confess to Steve's murder. First, she writes notes to hers sons and to Judy. Judy's contains a confession.
Jen then goes to Perez and confesses. They walk to the woods to find Steve's body, but cannot find it. Perez feels for Jen and understands why she did what she did, and lets her go.
Jen and Judy both want to start fresh. They both deal with some issues and then buy Charlie a new car. Meanwhile, Ben finds out that Steve's body was found. He gets drunk and drives right into Judy and Jen. When he sees what he has done, he drives off. Another hit-and-run.
